Starting out on the double end bag

Hi all,

Here's a couple of simple tips to help you get started on a double end bag.  I owned one years ago but being an impatient bugger I got frustrated with it and gave it to a mate.

Due to the 1st lockdown giving me plenty of spare time I thought I'd give it another go. It has now become one of my favourite bits of kit now improving hand to eye co-ordination, reflexes and footwork. I'll post a couple of video's soon sharing a few favourite combinations.

Cheers

Great video on an underused / undervalued bit of kit. It was once a regular bit of training for me, but it’s definitely been ignored for too long. Thanks for the inspiration to get mine back into the training rotation!

All the best,

Iain

Thanks Iain, glad you liked the video :)

I thought it was worth doing a part 2 sharing some more of my training methods on the bag. This time it's looking at defence.  The great thing about the double end bag is we can use it as a target (the head) or visualise it as a fist coming back at us. It's definitely a great tool for sharpening up the reflexes. The 3rd and final part will follow soon :)

Cheers

Third and final part of the double end bag series. Here we are looking at adding to your skillset on the bag. I have included elbows, uppercuts, hooks, hammerfist and indexing. Putting it all together with skills practiced from the previous videos.

Cheers
