This video shows a full breakdown of Naihanchi using my preferred applications. This is my favorite kata and its analysis has been one of the main focuses of my practice for awhile now. It’s important to note that what’s illustrated here is just the tip of the iceberg. I believe that what kata shows us is examples of techniques, strategies, and principles that can be adapted and varied for real fighting and competition. I’ve been working on a book that will concentrate on how these techniques come alive in sparring. Thanks!
