Open seminar of "old style" Okinawan karate - Seisan/Hangetsu kata

Hi all,

On the 17th of May will be sharing  my take on Seisan /Hangetsu kata at my dojo in Halifax.

My approach concerns itself with "old style"  Okinawan karate with influence from Fujian White Crane Kung Fu.

The session will include pad exercises to consider the impact options to be found in the kata, we will also practice simple two person sets to drill the specific skills and  strategies as taught by Seisan /Hangetsu,  before studying the application  suggestions in the kata and considering  how these can be used to combat the fast paced ,  ever changing energy of a real confrontation.

Here are a few examples of some of the considerations for the study of Seisan kata

Seisan/Hangetsu Bunkai Oyho

The seminar will run from 10am-2pm at my dojo. The address is : Serbian Orthodox Church, Heap Street, Boothtown, Halifax, West Yorkshire,  HX3 6HS

The cost of the session  is once again £10pp, paid in advance  to secure your place.

Anyone who is interested can email me  at markbonner1@hotmail.co.uk or PM on this forum , at which point I'll  provide the address for payment

Thanks

Mark

Thanks Mike. I enjoyed teaching the session. I hope it all came together for you, and that you enjoyed the "hidden techniques", and found my interpretation of the Seisan katas as a complete and inclusive training system interesting, the energy in the dojo was certainly excellent, with some really vigorous training.
