I am preparing this student of mine for his 2nd Dan test and a requirement in our organization is knife defense. The format of the test unfortunately does not incorporate any kind of resistance but I figured that we might as well play around with it to find something that works. This is technique is one that I’ve seen in BJJ and law enforcement circles. The resistance here is only moderate but I’ve found that the technique is workable. Not always easy to pull off but it gives you a chance.
