Teaching Technique

Hi Iain,

I just stumbled onto this video of your Kong Sang Koon application.

I really liked the first part, but the use of a second person doing the actual kata movements next to you while simultaneously you demonstrate the application is utter genius! It makes it so much more clear and easier to understand. Great teaching technique which I wish more instructors would employ.

Also, Brilliant sense of humour and nice shiny plaque!

Thank you! When appropriate I do that quite a lot (see other examples below). I’m pleased you find it a useful approach.

Thank you again! People learn better and work harder when they are enjoying themselves.

It’s also ironic that all the stuff that got me into trouble as a kid is now what people pat me on the back for i.e. fighting, always questioning things, always joking, etc :-)

It was a great event that one. Good people who were great fun to be around … and I got to meet Chuck Norris!

All the best,

Iain
