In this video, we look at the second portion of the opening moves of Pinan Nidan/Heian Shodan--the fade back into cat stance (in Matsubayashi), hammer fist, step punch, and pivot into low block. We explore this sequence as a possible way to deal with a low wrist grab in a clinch scenario. Toward the end of the video, I include a quick explanation of a pad drill to accompany this bunkai drill.
