Hello, everyone,
I was recently asked to write an article for Ryan Parker Sensei, a long-time karateka, amateur (in the sense that he doesn't get paid to do it) researcher, and author of the Ryukyu Martial Arts blog. The article was to be on the trend of a few techniques from Okinawan martial arts showing up in MMA competition. More could be written, certainly, but these were just a few techniques that I wanted to highlight. Since some people on this forum might find it interesting, I figured I would share it, here.

Thanks!
I think this was an excellent post - I'd also like to recommend your blog: http://budonokaizen.blogspot.com/ to readers of this forum. There are some very thoughtful and perceptive posts there.
Thank you, Steve--I appreciate the support!
A great article! I will share that via my lists shortly. Brilliant stuff!
All the best,
Iain
Thank you very much! I'm honored!
Lovely article. I've seen some of Ryan Parker's videos on youtube. He has a superb one on distance and timing which I regularly point people at. And now I have both your blogs too.
Ta.
Good read and in addition to Karate techniques used in MMA, one of the most underrated kicks which can be used to strike the liver or any parts of the body for that matter is Miza-zuki-Geri. Good stuff!!
