Great videos. I can see lots of techniques similar to the katas. Some techniques there similar to a jujitsu grading syllabus that I followed and trained in many years ago.
I recall seeing a similar kind of video taken from Fairburns unarmed combat training for the commandos. Can't remember where I saw it but if I find it will post a link to it.
Is it just me or does one of the black shirts look a bit like Liam Neeson?
No it’s not just you. I can see a similarity too :-) A friend of mine used to box with Liam Nielsen when he still resided in Northern Ireland. Quite a handy chap apparently.
Excellent videos from the U.S. Navy in action. I see several bunkais application using Jujutsu techniques from Te waza applications that I did during my Hakko Ryu Jujutsu days before Karate. Nice piece of MA history that never gets old.
