Low Light Self Defense workshop June 20th

Hi all,

I'm inviting anyone who's interested to join a London workshop that I've been working on for the past year.

Most of us (I'm a Krav Maga and BJJ practitioner) train for self defense in well-lit dojo's that allow us to perfect our technique and reflexes while enjoying maximum visual acuity and rarely, with the exception of singular events, address the challenges posed by dimly lit environments. This is while a great number of criminal assaults understandably occur during the night time, when the attacker relies on darkness for anonymity and surprise.

Ryukyu Kobudo Seminar - Glasgow - June 22nd-24th

Hello All,

Long term lurker, first time poster here. I am hosting a Seminar in Glasgow in Ryukyu Kobudo from the Shimbukan Dojo in Okinawa.

Akamine Sensei comes from a long line of Kobujutsuka and was taught by his grandfather, father and Taira Shinken Sensei who popularised Ryukyu Kobudo.

The practice has very strong parallels with Shotokan and Shorin-Ryu karate so it will have a massive crossover for your training.

I have no Dojo of my own so this is a one off event.

Clinch work seminar with Sam McRae, 23rd of June, Edinburgh

MESSAGE FROM MICK FRANKLIN:

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to organise a clinch work seminar with Sam McRae in Edinburgh on the 23rd of June. Cost will be about £30 for 3.5 hours. We'll also go for a meal afterwards. The course will be focusing on old school and little-known street practical applications of the clinch, as opposed to having a sporting focus.

As always I keep the costs to a minimum, so all the course money goes on the expenses and paying the instructor -I don't take a cut from the profits.
