Pinan Flow System Seminar 26 April 2014

Hi

I'll be running two x 2.5 hour classes on my Pinan / Heian kata drills on Saturday 26 April at the High Wycombe Judo Centre.

1030 - 1300 Shodan, Nidan, Sandan

1330 - 1600 Sandan, Yondan, Godan

£20 for one class, £35 for both.

The drills are all taken from my new series of books on the Pinan / Heian kata.  The first book (covering Shodan and Nidan) is already available in ebook form on amazon and the print book will be out by the end of April (and possibly the second print book (covering Sandan) too).

All grades (and styles) welcome.

Open session of "old style" Okinawan karate-Naihanchi kata

On the 15th June I will be running an open session of "old style" Okinawan karate with influence from Fujian White Crane Kung Fu at my dojo in Halifax. I will be sharing the type of two person drills I practice to inform the kata of choice. These include 2 person exercises , kata application and pad drills. By the end of the session I hope the attendees will have an idea of how to fluidly apply kata (any kata) by understanding & utilising your opponents energy to produce a highly functional system for close quarter skirmishing for which I believe the kata were originally intended.
