In the last week we had a couple of great videos shared on the forum with Tau and Iain posting ideas regarding Pinan / Heian Yondan. I'd mentioned the version of Rick Clark (Pressure Point Fighting and 75 Down Blocks) that I'd used in the first edition of the Heian Flow System, but I didn't have any footage to hand.
I'd originally planned to do a slight spoof of Tau's video where the Turkey stole the show, but although one student volunteered to be a turkey and another volunteered various items of fancy dress, what with one thing and another the various items were left at home.
This video was shot yesterday during part of a 'drop in' class with students popping in for differing amounts of time over four hours of light training that I was doing. The chap who helps me at the end is actually on his third class. The video kicks off with me doing a little walk through of my version of Rick Clark's application. I don't lift my hand all the way up in part because Chris is shorter than me, in part because he's got very flexible wrists and fingers, and the technique isn't so effective on him. I then talk about my current favourite application of the hand drop (which also works - and in some ways works better - against the two handed version) applied against a control I use a great deal.
