This week's Waza Wednesday gives a quick look at a few different ways to utilize a resistance band in conjunction with karate techniques, beyond just holding onto it while you punch or kick.
Thanks for sharing Noah! I love drills that are simultaneously simple and clever :-) I’ve used a belt for similar drills, but the elasticity of the band definitely introduces some more possibilities!
Thanks, Iain! I try to come up with a good number of these types of things, because those of us who don't teach for a living spend more time away from the dojo than in it, and don't always have partners available. Glad you liked it!
We don't have a heavy bag in out dojo. But we have big kick shields. So we can wrap the resistance band around the kick shield while a partner holds it. The holding partner will even experience some of the pulling and impact.

All the best,
Iain

Thank you for the good idea.
